Demand for Humless Power Systems Coming from Developing Countries!

There is now at least one mobile phone link for every two people in India. Yet, 300 million Indians, a quarter of the population, still have no access to electricity in the home (read this recent HuffingtonPost Article).

Humless power experts say that while this may amaze, given India’s emergence as a technology leader on the world stage, the story is not so rare among countries supporting millions of citizens in rural “off-grid” communities. And, just as the cell phone revolution enabled countries like those in developing Asia to skip the wired generation for a wireless infrastructure, Humless says their silent, portable power systems are drawing interest from developing nations.

Jamaica, Africa, and post-quake electricity starved Japan are among those asking for a custom Humless design using solar,” stated Glenn Jakins, Humless CEO. “We knew demand would be high here in the U.S. for emergency preparedness applications such as home hurricane planning. However, the interest is high as word gets out of our uniquely silent and portable power system.”

Countries like Ukraine are currently researching micro solar solutions to free themselves from dependency on Russian natural gas, where wintertime supply is questionable. But, the sweet spot for Humless technology may be providing the power to populations whose prospect for power grid connection is more long-term or non-existent.

“In America, we use electricity like water,” says Jakins. “Turn on the tap and leave it on. It’s cheap and readily available to homes, except during emergency. In my home continent of Africa, they just want a reading light at night or a simple fan. Rural medical clinics simply want power so babies won’t be delivered in the dark.”

Free Seminar on Solar Power Generation for Emergencies

Humless, LLC will be holding a free public seminar on using solar power for home emergency preparedness. Held in association with Parley’s Hardware, a Do It Best affiliate, anyone interested in reliable emergency electricity is encouraged to attend. The free class will cover such areas as how to capture, store, and access solar power for emergency use.

"Solar power generation is silent, fossil fuel free, safe indoors and is now affordable for home users," said Parley Hellewell of Parley’s Hardware. “Humless power systems now make versatile, portable solar power generation a reality in a simple-to-use product. We are pleased to partner on this emergency preparedness look at the technology that brings the public up to speed on what’s possible.”

The free class is scheduled for 3 p.m. on July 16 at Parley’s Hardware, 260 S 1200 W in Orem, UT.

Humless recently announced general availability of its Humless Sentinel and Humless Roadrunner power systems. These clean energy products create a new class of green energy generator and power supply that is silent, portable and easy to use, with no dependence on fossil fuel. Based on Advanced Lithium+ design, Humless technology is two-thirds lighter, lasts five times longer, and is 20+ percent more efficient than older lead acid battery technology.

Both the Sentinel and Roadrunner are silent and environmentally friendly. The units are safe for indoor and outdoor use in dozens of applications for a mobile world. Recharge and discharge may be done simultaneously. Watch video.

The Humless Sentinel has garnered early praise from the National Self Reliance Organization, receiving the coveted “Best of Show” award at the Salt Lake City Self Reliance Expo.

The Sentinel is the first alternative-fuel generator to combine a 10-year shelf life and long-lasting charge time with universal input/output connectivity. The expandable 1000W (50Ah) Sentinel can be carried over the shoulder or stored on the shelf.

The Sentinel’s little brother, the 200W (10Ah) Humless Roadrunner, provides extra portability using the same design for smaller jobs.
